Mourning In The Fog - Oil Pastel Painting

"Mourning in the Fog" reflects the heavy toll avian flu took on the eastern Sandhill Crane population in 2025. The muted tones and misty background mirror the uncertainty and loss these birds faced. Despite the hardship, they stand together—a quiet moment of resilience. 

This painting was exhibited in the juried Dunes Bird In Art 2025 at the Indiana Dunes National Park.
